Engagement pictures I did for a dear friend.

These are pictures I did for my dearest friend and her fiance for their engagement. I am not very good at this kind of thing (this kind of thing being portraits), but I had fun. Not to mention this was my first time doing engagement pictures!!! NERVE RACKING!!

It was nice to do this for them and everyone was really happy with the outcome. The location these were shot at is one of my favorites to go to. You might notice this is the same location for the band pictures i posted earlier! It is near a small river, there is good foliage, and some old buildings so it gives me lots of options. I like options because I like to try as many things as possible. The sun was come and go that afternoon/evening which came as a slight pain in the butt. The best part about this shoot was that I found a wildlife trail thing on the way to the location, and so I took them there for a few shots, and was really diggin it. But those didn't make the cut for this post, but I will remember that spot for some other shoots I have coming up!! Well I hope everyone enjoys, and comments are always very welcome!!

I had to add this one because of that face!!

One of these days I will pull out my external hard drive and post pics that I did the past few years... One of these days.....

"You mention a key word - conversation!
The "art" is not located in the artifact/image but in the interface between the artist and the audience facilitated by the work.
ART is a VERB, not a noun, an ACT not a thing, a DIALOG between the artist/creator and experiencer of the work."

That is a quote from my professor Brian Parkin. I posted this quote because it goes along with my post about the importance of explaining your work. I just love that this is a thing that everyone does, but they might not always notice how valuable it is.

Wisconsin Photography 2012!!! Go check it out!!

Wisconsin Photography 2012

The above link is for the Wisconsin Photography 2012 exhibit at the Wustum Museum. This is a very exciting time for me because I have four images in this exhibit!!! IT IS MY FIRST MUSEUM EXHIBIT!!! When I received the email saying they would like my images to be in the show, my jaw dropped to the floor, and then I got the cheesiest smile on my face.

The exhibit had 862 entries, and only 118 images were selected, and I part of the 118 selected!!! I must have done something right to have an honor like this. The opening reception is this Sunday, September 9th from 2 to 4. I hope to see friends and family there, as well as meeting more new an amazing people. If you have never been to the Wustum Museum it is a great place. I remember going there a lot when I was little do to arts n' crafts with my girl scout troop, or with school. They have beautiful gardens for people to enjoy, and the art is always a nice to gaze at. Now, it is my turn to be in this great museum that I grew up with.

I hope everyone stops by to enjoy the Wisconsin Photography of 2012.
